US Dem Joe Lieberman Supports Preemptive Strike on Iran

Highly unusual display of intelligence from a "Democrat".

But welcome just the same!

Story here.

"I think the only justifiable use of military power would be an attempt to deter the development of their nuclear program if we felt there was no other way to do it," the former vice presidential candidate tells the Jerusalem Post.

(...)

"Sometimes when people say really extreme things, which at some level a lot of people don't want to even believe . . . they may actually mean it. They may intend to do it. So I do think that the statements of Ahmadinejad are taken very seriously, both with regard to [speaking of a world without] the US and with regard to Israel."

Mr. Lieberman understands the historical context and precendents of evil monsters who have declared such intentions... such as Adolf Hitler and Osama Bin Laden, who proceeded with their terrible plans, taking numerous innocent lives in the process.

He's saying that we cannot afford to assume that madman Ahmadinejad is just "mouthing off" or whatever. The thinking person, after all, knows better than to ignore the gravest (including the "wiping out" of entire races of people) of all threats... particularly when backed up with the development of nuclear weapons.

I welcome Mr. Lieberman's courageous words and congratulate him for breaking away from the brainless bash-Bush-regardless-of-anything position of his fellow Democrats.

I cannot help, by the way, but wonder: why on Earth is this fellow a Democrat in the first place? It's a little like a dry conservative at a rave.

Too bad he's the only Democrat with any apparent intellectual prowess.

Unhinged-moonbat columnist Thomas L. Friedman of the unhinged-moonbat newspaper-impersonating leftist rag the New York Times actually believes, against all logic and all fundamental intelligence (surprising, eh, for a leftist?), that a nuclear-armed Iran is better than a preemptive strike to prevent its becoming so.

What's the matter with that imbecile? Is he trying to score brownie points with his fellow unhinged moonbats?

Speaking of such dung-for-brains leftists, I'd like to share this image I found earlier this evening:
