Polygamy On The Way: David Warren

One man, ten wives. Yes... he gets to, um, "play with" them all! Lucky SOB, eh? Is this a normal family? Acceptable or not, it's on the way. I'm sure Osama bin Laden will approve. He's a polygamist, too!

I remember that just a few short years ago, the left and the homosexual activists were promising that the early spate of pro-homosexual legislation, like the sentencing one, the pensions one, etc, passed by the Liberals in Canada wouldn't lead to same-sex marriage, "don't be silly", that they wouldn't push for SSM.

Then they forced it upon a kicking and screaming Canada, using the full force of the entire Liberal-populated state apparatus to make it happen gradually, then like a nuclear bomb.

During the debate leading up to the SSM legislation being passed, the left and the homosexual activists arrogantly dismissed warnings that SSM would grease the slope, leading to such a thing as polygamy.

Well, I see all sorts of signs that we're moving down that slippery slope. The Liberals have already conducted a bureaucratic study in secrecy which ended with a recommendation to decriminalize polygamy "because it causes no apparent harm", as the Liberal lawyers doing the study asserted.

Well, here's some more discussion of the danger that polygamy will eventually be forced upon Canada by the leftist-intensive state apparatus.

Story here. h/t: National Newswatch

My two standard themes -- the advance of Islamist fanaticism in the world, and the West's decline into decadence -- start coming together in the subject of polygamy.

We will have legalized polygamy in Canada very soon. This is thanks to a decision of the Ontario Appeals Court last week that so far no one has had the stomach to take higher -- creating, in law, three parents for one child.

Wow- I haven't heard of this decision- this is the first I've been made aware! Whither the MSM/bloggers? Ah, it's being kept quiet, lest the people awaken and say, "Absolutely, positively not! Not in my country, never!" and put an immediate halt to it all, including in the courts, who can be intimidated by public opinion, if strong enough. (We know this, if we've been watching and observing all the politically-based, not legal/Charter-based decisions by Liberal-appointed, unaccountable, leftwing activist judges).

Again, it starts with the courts. The courts. Unelected. Unaccountable. Corrupt. We know they are; never mind the brainless, submissive leftist dogma that they're to be trusted at all times and never, never, never questioned.

SSM started with the courts, we remember. And it became a reality.

But it was inevitable anyway, given the tastes and propensities of Canada's revolutionary courts, and the cliques in the law schools that are steering selected "hard cases" toward them for the express purpose of overturning the civilized norms of many centuries.
The people of Canada are entirely excluded from this power loop by judges who, as our Supreme Court chief justice, Beverley McLachlin, is happy to explain, must never be tainted by electoral politics, even to the degree of being approved by Parliament. Nor, as she has also patiently explained, must they be restricted to interpreting the law as they receive it. Nor, I would think, would she make them accountable to God (though she has yet to rule expressly on that issue). No, they are a law unto themselves.

Read the whole thing and be forewarned.

Note that last excerpt. The Supreme Court appears to believe that it is a virtual god, omniscient, omnipotent and beyond question.

Reminds me of Hitler, Stalin, Castro, Saddam, Chretien... Allah.

Do we care? Do enough of us care? Do we care what the left does to our societies at all? Are we willing to rise up in overpowering numbers to force them to stop with all this misguided, unnecessary extremism?

If the Liberals are ever elected again, they'll force, as they did SSM, polygamy upon a Canada that never said she wanted it, that says she does not.

But Liberals don't care what Canadians think, want nor need. Liberals care about themselves and those who put them into power, and nothing else. They'll do it.
