Sarkozy Warns Iran of Military Force Re Nuke Program

French President Nicolas Sarkozy

Story here.

In his first major foreign policy speech since taking office, President Nicolas Sarkozy said Monday that Iran could be attacked militarily if it did not live up to its international obligations to curb its nuclear program.

(...)

Calling the Iranian nuclear crisis "the most serious weighing on the international order today," Sarkozy also reiterated his position that a nuclear-armed Iran would be "unacceptable" to France.

Finally, a French leader who doesn't eat cheese! (For those who don't get it, there's a phrase: "Cheese-eating surrender monkey". The French have long been deserving of this label, but now we see a French leader with "boules" hanging between his legs rather than nothing!)

Hear that, Ahmadinejad and puppetmaster clerics? You can no longer count on France to back you up on whatever you demand!

The French have begun to come to their senses. Granted, they have a long way to go yet, but this is a promising start!
