Canadian CF-18s Intercept Russian Bombers

Russian Tu-95 Bear long-range bomber

Story here. h/t NationalNewswatch.com
They've been stepping up their long-range bomber flights to Free World nations after years of mothballing most of the pathetically obsolete counter-B-29 relics. Why the lately-shirtless-a-lot-in-pictures homopedophile Russian dictator Vlad Putin decided to do so is a question for psychologists to ponder.
Obsolete are the bombers, but not the nuclear bombs they could very well have onboard.
Sure, this used to happen all the time and is again, but if the bastards foolishly have nukes onboard, well, they're playing a very dangerous game.
CF-18 Hornets met the Tupolev-95 Bear bombers outside Canadian airspace, Lt.-Gen. Angus Watt told The Chronicle Herald’s editorial board Friday.
"It’s not exactly a new challenge; it’s an old challenge that has returned," Lt.-Gen. Watt said Friday.
The recent encounter took place near Inuvik, N.W.T., inside what the military dubs its air defence identification zone.
(...)
"We have responded in the traditional way to Russian incursions of our airspace by meeting them as they enter our airspace with our fighters to escort them through to show them that we’re paying attention," Lt.-Gen. Watt said.
Lt.-Gen. Watt downplays the whole thing, saying effectively that there's not going to be a return to the Cold War.
But it's contended by many experts that, in fact, the Cold War didn't really end- it merely either took a pause or changed, due to the collapse of the Evil Empire and subsequent inability of an impoverished Russia to continue with many of the bomber flights. Until now.
And this, as astute observers well know, is just the tip of the iceberg of what Russia is doing now.
And, despite this and other cold, hard realities of the world, many leftists want to dismantle the militaries of the Free World. How insane is that?
