Deal sternly with the dangerous criminals. Banning guns, knives, baseball bats, hockey sticks, fists, feet, teeth, fingernails and whatever left-wing imbeciles tell us to ban will not work. Because you can't get rid of any weapons any more than you can get rid of any drugs.
It's the people who use the weapons that we can't get rid of by banning them (a futile, stupid, useless, but politically attractive proposal), so...

Note to leftists: If you propose banning handguns and assault rifles, you might as well propose banning drugs, as they're responsible for hurting and killing people, too. Don't punish the people who use them; ban that which they use to cause harm. Right?

Oh wait... you also obviously want to get rid of safe-shooting facilities used by responsible, law-abiding sportspeople... of course you do; banning all handguns will also get rid of the safe shooting ranges, the sport of marksmanship, etc. Next, you'll get rid of Canadian participation in the Olympic shooting events...
What, is marksmanship sports a right-wing thing, therefore something you want to get rid of? Oh, I see. Leftists are too sophisticated to safely, responsibly shoot at targets for fun; they're more interested in marching naked in the streets, claiming they're proud of their private fetishes... yup, real sophisticated. "Safe, responsible" sodomy is desirable, but target shooting must be effectively forbidden and eradicated via the banning of the equipment required to play the sport!
